I guess it is some kind of cyclical thing. The area gets a really bad swarm every 4 years or so. I hate it..JPG)
So does he. He hisses and pounces on them and gets mad that they are hard to catch and disgusting to eat. 
Apparently the only way to actually get rid of them is to buy chickens, Guineau fowl, or ducks. No pesticides will work..JPG)
Does anybody have an extra Guineau fowl handy?

buy a bunch of chickens and after they eat all the grasshoppers, you can eat THEM!
I had a guinea fowl but we ate it.
It tasted like grasshoppers.
Fortunately, it tasted like Keebler elf grasshoppers, not the plague variety you are currently experiencing.
