Jack's Fire Station Field Trip

Back in September (yes, I know it is January. I don't want to talk about it...) Mr. Jack got to go on a field trip with his preschool class to the fire station. It was pretty exciting not just because it was a field trip, but because Jack is a little bit obsessed with firemen. Sara had the morning off from school, so she got to come as well. She loved seeing Miss Jenny again.

The instructor had a mini fire truck that all the kids got to ride in.
I thin he liked it a little bit...

They got the chance to help him put all of his gear on. I am glad they do this so the kids can see and hear what they sound like should the need to identify them in an emergency ever arise.

Jack's favorite buddy Jayden got to show how a fireman would carry them if they were found in a burning house.

He took the kids on a tour of the firehouse. Jack loved this. Sara was sweet to comfort this cute little girl who was getting a little overwhelmed with everything.

While we were there, they had an emergency call, so the kids got to see the ambulance take off with the lights and siren blaring. I hope everything at the scene was OK, but it was pretty cool timing for the kids.
The kids were asked to put their hands on their heads while they looked at the truck and ambulance so they didn't touch anything they weren't supposed to.
As you can see, Jack tried really hard to stay obedient to that counsel as long as possible.

Luke wouldn't keep his shoes on. Stinker.
Before the fire station, the class had pictures over at a nearby park. Jack refused to wear real shoes or smile. I got a class picture that I ay or may not upload at some point. It was a fun day, and I am glad he got his grumps out when he finally got to the station and saw what it was all about.
