Confession

Emma just walked up to me very reluctantly with her whole body slouching, reminiscent of Charlie Brown after losing the baseball championship. I asked her what was wrong, and she just turned around and trudged to her room and sat on her bed. I asked her again what was wrong, and was worried she was sick. She just looked up at me and said, "Emma was naughty. She needs to go to her room."

I could get no other explanation out of her. A quick inspection of the house found that she had climbed to the top of our food pantry- where I keep all the candy. She had eaten an entire bag of peanut butter filled chocolate eggs, and most of the left-over Valentines candy.

She was entirely right that I would have sent her to her room when I found out- but her sad and remorseful march of shame was just too cute. She has been sad ever since and keeps hugging me and telling me sorry. Looks like my plague of self-inflicted guilt has been passed on. Darn my flawed genes!

That is very cute and funny! I like your girls lots. They are both mischievous and a little naughty, which is how all kids should be. :) (P.S. That was a compliment, Emma!)

This is just too cute. I hope my kids are good at disciplining themselves as well.
