Fourth of July Weekend: Part 2

Saturday morning was spent recovering from the late night for the girls, and preparing lots of food for Sunday for me. Ross mowed the lawn and did some other manly things that I don't have to do now that I am married. :) Suffice it to say that we were all more than ready to get out and have some fun in the afternoon. We went and bought a swimsuit for Sara, some potato salad and then headed over to Melissa and Jim's house again for an awesome BBQ.

We got to see Clay and Stephanie and their kids as well as all the fun Russell cousins and Goodman Grandparents. Jim set up a slip and slide in the backyard (hence the purchased swimsuit) and the girls went down it a couple of times while I was inside feeding Jack. Ross didn't take any pictures, and they were wet and cold and done with the slip and slide by the time I finished nursing and went out there. Oh well. :(

The food was great, and we enjoyed some cake and ice cream to celebrate Max's birthday. It was kind of chaotic with all the kids, but Emma and Sara loved seeing their cousins and having so many kids to play with. Sara got Grandma to read some books to her and Emma was in performance mode and showed off all the dance moves she has learned from SYTYCD when she could get Grandma's attention. My girls like her a lot! Grandma also held Jack for me while I got some food, and I almost forgot about him when we were packing up to leave around 7:30. For reals. I am a terrible mother. . .

In the evening, we headed over to the Provo Temple to watch the Stadium of Fire. We hadn't packed up as much stuff as last year because we quite literally did not decide to for sure head over there until we pulled away from Melissa's house. We had a great time! We lucked into a parking spot that someone had just pulled out of, and there was plenty of space on the grass.

The kids were all asleep when we got there, so we pulled out some chairs and chatted while munching on the cotton candy Ross bought for me (he totally loves me!). When the girls woke up we played on the blankets and had some fun while we waited for the sun to set and the show to start.

This shot doesn't do it justice- but this sunset was spectacular! It lit the sky on fire. It was really quite lovely!
This is a fuzzy picture- but he is such a good baby!
After the show we stopped by the store to grab a few last minute items before heading home and crashing. It was late, and we were all very tired from a long and full day of family, fun, and fireworks.
